A Year of Stories

A year of stories. And I’m not talking about 2020. I declare 2021 the year of stories. Though it’s bold of me to give the year its name, its destiny. But generally, what is the point?

I decided to take a "writing assignment". Over the next year, I will write stories that I will then publish on social networks and on my blog on the site. A new story for every new week. This makes 52 stories in total by the end of the year.

Honestly, I don't quite know yet what the stories will turn out to be, what will be plot and genres. It's always the same with me. I just lay myself out to the creative flow. I just write. And I invite you to watch the stories emerge and come to life.

The beginning of my whole venture and the publication of the first story is on December 21st. This is the winter solstice and it is on this date that days will start to gradually lengthen and the new year will begin.

Of course, the past year made it very clear to us once again that planning ahead can be completely useless... Well, then it will be even more interesting to see what will be the end of this literary marathon.

P.S. I remind you that English is not my first language. And I ask you not to faint at the sight of a mistake (but I will work as much as possible to avoid them). These will be stories without any kind of editing and corrections. This way you will be able to see how my books look before the editor polishes them.

The first book published!

November 2020 will stay a significant month in my life. As this was the month I officially became an author!

And my first published book is “Superstar Galaxy: Four Planets”. It is a children’s book about some odd aliens and their unusual planets. The book that starts a whole series of books about a galaxy far, far away. The print version was published on Amazon on November 6. And the ebook appeared there on November 10.

Prior to this, I already posted my works publicly. Mostly that was my poetry. You can still read them on my Instagram profile. It is funny that the poems are not at all aimed at a children's audience. However, at the beginning of this year my wife and I got the idea for a children's book. And somehow it happened that we began to work hard on it, work on illustrations, think through the characters, study information about the publication opportunities…

The whole process from the idea to the publication turned out to be quite long for a short children's book, more than six months. But after all, each of the steps we took for the first time: fonts, typesetting, translation and proofreading, studying the rules of Amazon…

Finally, everything has grown into the fact that now we have a real published book. This gives some subtle feelings. It seems as nothing has changed. On the other hand, a feeling of being a bit different inside. Maybe it is the feeling of the beginning of a long and interesting journey?

I believe that this path will indeed be long. For example, we are already working on the next books in the "Superstar Galaxy" series. We also have half-finished materials for the fantasy series "Cloch and Bua". Moreover, there are plans to publish a collection of poetry along with short stories.

Well, the path begins. And it begins with a funny story about amusing aliens "Superstar Galaxy: Four Planets". The book can now always be found on Amazon.
