Air Sheep

Düsseldorf, Germany

If you cross the Rhine over the bridge from the old town towards the Oberkassel district, you will find yourself - surprisingly - on the banks of the Rhine. And what a wide bank it is! Walk as much as you want. And it is indeed pleasant to walk there: under the trees above or in the meadow below, to look at the river, at the panorama of the city, at the grazing sheep, at the kites.

Yes, sheep and kites - they are, one might say, natives there. Coexisting in some unknown idyll with each other: the sheep eating grass on the ground, the kites soaring in the sky. So you stand there looking at them, and if you look closely enough, you will even feel that this is an eternal picture here, unchanging, that even before the city appeared, they had already been here together. And because of this, you will begin as if to penetrate into the essence of their mysterious interconnection, into this radiant tension. And then you will see some sheep getting off the ground and slowly starting to rise up to the sky, straight to the kites. It'll fly up to them as if hungry for conversation. And will float with them in the wind, without making a sound. And then just as slowly, calmly will descend to the ground. It happens sometimes that even several of them will come off the ground at once, but this is still a rare thing, which is considered a harbinger of incredible events.
