Verona Biter
Verona, Italy
Grab! – And it grabbed. Bite! – And it bit. That's the Verona biter. You've got to keep an eye on it. It's a naughty one. But you need to know that it isn’t vicious. Just a playful character. And that’s why it can bite.
And it doesn't care whom to bite. That is, it is so brave that it can bite anyone without even thinking. Most often people see it biting a lion. But right next to the lion, there are people and fish. Sometimes it bites them too. To do that, it only has to climb up the facade over the doors and there it is! But it usually sits in its corner and holds the lion's leg in its teeth.
But don't think that it lives only on one facade. It can get off it, jump down, and rush around the city, and jump on some other facade, or run across a bridge, or swim across the river, and bite everything and everyone: saints frozen in time, trees and bushes, columns, Romeo and Juliet especially, prominent figures of all kinds. And, of course, passers-by. If you are walking along the streets of Verona and you feel someone bite you from behind, and you turn round and see no one, you should know that it was a Verona biter: it bit you quickly and ran off to bite others.
